Today is March 8th, which is also International Women’s Day!

In honor of today we are taking a trip back in time to commemorate some of the top supermodels that shaped fashion to be what it is today.

1970s: Iman, Beverly Johnson, Janice Dickinson

Iman is a Somali model, a pioneer in ethnic cosmetics, and is known for her charitable work.

Beverly Johnson was the first African-American model to appear on the cover of American Vogue in August 1974 and in 1975, she became the first black woman to appear on the cover of the French edition of Elle

After her modeling career, Dickinson went on to become a reality television judge for 4 seasons on America’s Next Top Model and even had one of her own The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency based on her own agency.

1980s: Cindy Crawford, Brooke Shields, Paulina Poritzkova

In 1995, Forbes magazine named Crawford the highest paid model on the planet.

Her trademark is her mole right above her lip – cheers to appreciating your body for every little thing!
